100% and pansinusitis. They needed antibiotic scheme. At 2 years in 83.3% had a VAS.7. At 58.3% had pansinusitis. The bronchial relapse did not increase. We determined the presence of VAS. 7 and pansinusitis (OR 1⁄4 4). The bronchial relapse did not influence with increasing VAS (OR 1⁄4 1). Conclusions: Nasal symptoms persistent were secondary to the nasal polyps and pansinusitis with higher levels of VAS. It was determinated a 4-fold risk over pansinusitis with a VAS. 7 (OR 1⁄4 4). It should be stressed the palliative surgical treatment in earlier stages and desensitization protocols.

The IL1B-511 Polymorphism (rs16944 AA Genotype) Is Increased in Aspirin-Exacerbated Respiratory Disease in Mexican Population

Aspirin exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD) is characterized by chronic hyperplastic rhinosinusitis, nasal polyposis, asthma, and aspirin sensitivity. The mechanisms which produce these manifestations of intolerance are not fully defined, current research focuses on cyclooxygenase 1 (COX-1) inhibition, metabolism of arachidonic acid, and the COX pathway to the lipoxygenase (LO) route, induci...

Effect of diffuse panbronchiolitis critical region 1 polymorphisms on the risk of aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease in Korean asthmatics.

BACKGROUND The functional role of the human diffuse panbronchiolitis critical region 1 (DPCR1) gene, located in the major histocompatibility complex class I, has not been widely investigated. However, this gene is a well known genetic marker for diffuse panbronchiolitis, a disease affecting human respiratory bronchioles. In this study we explored the association between polymorphisms in DPCR1 ...

Clinical and Immunological Efficacy of Aspirin Desensitization in Nasal Polyp Patients with Aspirin-Exacerbated Respiratory Disease

This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and the underlining mechanism of aspirindesensitization among patients with Aspirin Exacerbated Respiratory Disease (AERD). Thirtyeightpatients, who had undergone an aspirin challenge test and were diagnosed as havingAERD, were engaged in a double-blind randomized clinical trial. They were divided into twogroups—an active group of patients who went t...
